Just in time for christmas silly season TFL are closing it till 30th December.
It’s been shut for a couple of weeks now. You can’t use it in an artic anyway. Only van drivers are affected

Yep, girls vans only
No comment as I’m no longer trusted to drive anything bigger than a desk!

Don’t know. It was 18 tonnes when I went over it, but there weren’t any weight restriction signs until you got to the bridge itself, at which point there was nowhere to turn round.
It has been closed for about a month, I live in the USA and knew that LOL
Here’s the best view of it…
Don’t mind admitting we were absolutely ■■■■■■■■ ourselves when this pic was taken.
Sorry…Out traffic lights are in place there!

18 tonnes when I went over in an Stobrats artic too. Few years ago
It was still 18t until they closed it, and although they are repairing it, nothing has been mentioned about increasing the limit once works are completed…

I found the 20 ton limit sign at the foot of the bridge back in the late 60’s. 32 ton up with wire reels for the nail works on Manchester Rd, and blew the silencer apart (across the front) just as I spotted the sign and a copper walking along. Thought, ooops and kept her lit.
No doubt there will be an appeal by cyclists to the european court, costing the taxpayer millions, claiming that they have been discriminated against because pedestrians are still allowed to use it.
