Quite a difference between tourist money rates and trade and worldwide commerce rates.Drivers would get the better rate,if we had to borrow more running money from the agents or freight forwarders.
I use a Nationwide debit card to get currency when abroad. The rate changes daily, today it is 1.107, I believe the ferries give 1.020 at the mo.
Post office do a travel money card, the boss could top it up over the phone when i was in eu,comes in euros/stirling/us dollars.Transactions over the phone, transfer funds via bank card.
We don’t really get running money any more, tags for the peage and a UTA card covers most of the expenses in the eu… The days of setting out from Wandsworth with £1500 in cash are well and truly over!
