Ive seen a lot of Edwin Shirley trucks pulling containers out of the Isle of Grain just lately, i take it there isn’t much tour work on at the moment.

i hope i get a call from tramsam when it gets busy. the experience would be great

its quite possible they are taking bands gear to the first show, we often have crossloading done into containers in the yard, although we never pull them, we have a couple of skellies but they get used for gennys now and again

Can’t remember the job there doing but the containers are for some event for possibly Imagination (one of Shirleys big clients)

The only tour work we did on containers was Holiday on ice, it started off in Brighton then we took it all over the country, that was about 9 years ago, i don’t know who does it now.

Believe them containers were going to Excel for the Boat show! Maybe wrong though…

thats now a pieter smit job, biggest pile of ■■■■ i have had the misfortune of doing, not to be confused with dancing on ice, which is bad, but not a patch on holiday on ice, kindle is on it today i believe

Its not done in containers any more then, when we did the job, once we had collected all the containers from Brighton we used to take them to Wembely then to Exeter, they had a week at each venue, after Exeter it was off to Manchester then sheffield, then i think it went out of the country.
So you now take them from Brighton to Peterborough.

im not doing the full tour mate, im just helping out, i think there was one or maybe two trailers with containers on, consisting of offices basically! the Dutch driver who is on it permanent mentioned he’d been to Exeter, i think thats where they were before Brighton, we took it fron Brighton to Peterboro, and on Sunday are taking it from peterboro down to Cardiff, then bouncing home, as you say cos its not viable to sit there a week with it. After taking it to Cardiff and bouncing home thats my lot finished with them. Afew days later i will be starting a proper rock’n’roll tour.

Thanks for that, who are you on tour with.
