SN 59 FBN that’s my old mate Graham from Barnsley he drove this for me when I got my new F12

A quick question for the R&R chaps in the know. Are all FBN trucks right hand drive? Most of the units seem to be. Transam / EST all seem to be left hookers which makes sense considering the amount of time they spend in main land Europe, I just wondered if there was any particular reason why FBN are all right hookers! I guess the obvious one is resale value.

We’ve got a few second-hand, LHD Volvo’s, but the majority of the fleet is RHD.
It’s not really a problem, as most of our work tends to be on motorways, rather than Nationals, and as we have toll-boxes for just about everywhere, there aren’t many times when we have to cross the cab at peages. Obviously, overtaking is easier on motorways too, as there’s no need to ‘peek’ round the truck in front to see if it’s safe to pass.
It’s also easier to find double-drivers for RHD trucks too, and therefore safer for us.

Hi Dan did a trip to Moscow in 2012 for FBN but tilt work to Europe in the 80s was the best !

Stage Truck doing a lot of container work out of Southampton at the moment.
Plenty of construction going on in their yard. “Designated Place” construction I believe.

New six bay workshop being built with a VOSA lane…

Now that makes sense! Personally, for the amount of time you chaps spend away in Europe, I would have thought that LHD would be standard spec, but as you say, there are reasons otherwise.

Did you take the short boat across from the mainland or catch the boat at Genoa?
