To be honest, I am not a massive MAN fan. They are OK and this has been specced with fridge & microwave so the driver is looked after.
The two '56 Plates have had a fair share of problems but were on 500,000k each or there abouts when I bought them and my old boss (Tony Fielding) did say that they would be trouble with that many miles and he was right.
That said, he has run enough of them from new and is a big fan and he has been doing it long enough to know, plus, our mileage isn’t the same as General Haulage and the work is a lot kinder on the lorry.
I have bought it over 5 years and plan to run it for 8 so at Euro 6 it will still have some resale value.
At the end of the day, it isn’t a DAF, Scania or Volvo (but it wasn’t DAF, Scania or Volvo money, same spec from Scania was £15k more!) but it was time to move up a gear after nearly 8 year of 2nd hand motors.
The DAF chassis is not proper low ride which is why all low ride DAF’s have a cab that leans back, neither does it have front air as standard.
Scania doesn’t com with factory fitted dual height 5th wheel.
Volvo never even got back to me.
It was only MAN that took my new truck enquiry seriously.
Time will tell

Thanks for the reply m8 ,very interesting
All low ride dafs lean back? Since when? Only if you spec them wrong and have springs on the front do they lean back.

Fair comment, I didn’t put that across very well in my earlier post. What I should have said that air isn’t standard, which to my mind means they therefore do not offer a proper low ride as standard.
8 Transams heading north on the M6 today, mid to late afternoon. Where were they off to?
