Rod Stewart tour trucks at the O2 Greenwich Dome

Was that you I see coming off the boat a Calais sat night?

Love this thread. Just to make an observation. The KB Event fleet on the Rod Stewart line up is all Scania. Is that not a bit of a rarity nowadays as it seems almost all the major players in the Tour Trucking game seem to run mainly SSC Dafs with Volvos coming second! Im guessing that the Daf seems to be the most popular due to the cab size for double manning!

Great pics chaps, keep em coming!

KB have ran scanias for years, i think the DAF popularity is more about their European service backup remember these motors are abroad for long periods so are serviced mid tour & some of the R & R firms that run DAF’s do not allow double drivers to sleep in the trucks, it’s always hotels

As near as dam it Honda Formula Racing which became Brawn

I did a bit for Formula One once. Three days to get from Biggin Hill to Milan!! :open_mouth:

Day one, depart Biggin Hill, off the train in Calais, down the road for a couple of hours then stop. Day two down to Chamonix, before the Blanc, stop again. Day three, drive to Malpensa! That was hotels EVERY night for EVERYBODY!! No double drivers, single only. Trouble was it meant sharing a room which, if your roomy snores like a bull elephant on heat means you`re in for a rough night. Also, you couldn’t sleep in the truck even if you wanted / needed to.

Same old truck, i’m afraid, but seen here parked outside the famous (or should that be infamous) Ibiza Rocks Hotel, a couple of weeks ago.

Party all night GB

KB have ran scanias for years,

For the last 10 years KB Event have pretty well been Scania, both rigids and artics.
Apart from a little dip into the world of the Stralis (!!!).

Still see one of the old Stralises now on eastern plates pulling out of UK docks. Remember big Ken drove one of them for a while!

Remember big Ken drove one of them for a while!

Ken has retired from the road and is running a chain of tanning salons! Those who know Ken will see the humour in that !

That’s why I insist on single rooms on the road, when I’m discussing my terms and conditions of employment. but then working for a race team you have far more say than working for FOM.
