I do some film work through agency and its very much the same as u describe for the music industry
usually we get 100 for twelve hours but for that u might not drive at all just be on standby and hotels paid for if 40 miles from base
sometimes get per diems ranging from 20 - 70 a night and up to yourself to book hotel if u don’t you can stay in truck and pocket the money
also catering always on site so free breakfast dinner coffee sandwich s etc
so it all seems very similar and you don’t really spend any money as nothing to spend it on as such
and any amount of hours so you can make a lot of money and like music its only busy for about 6-7 months of the year but allows u to make enough to cover you for time off
think its time to send cv off to a few of the companies that cover the music industry

I think the whole point is that it’s more about being a lifestyle choice than a way of maximising your annual income.I know people who do rock ‘n’ roll work and by doing eight months a year they will earn as much as somebody on general haulage will earn in twelve, and although some folk cannot get their heads around the concept, for some people doing a job they enjoy is more important than earning the absolute maximum possible amount.
I did backstage security for “Slade” and various other bands at a local music venue around 15 years ago now and i found the entertainment industry far more interesting , vibrant and enjoyable than any kind of industrial work, its a kind of buzz, i was never clock watching even though it was silly o clock finishes , it was the camaraderie, the laughs and the banter that made it enjoyable for me personally, not the arbitrary rate i was on . I would give the tour truck driving type of work a bash if i ever find myself single again.
I know Noddy Holders younger brother and in the day Slade gigs where as mad as they get !
His brother is as batty as a box of onions .

TransAm will be taking on a lot of drivers from next month, Springsteen and Bon Jovi and both out at the same time this year and both will be very big tours.
those days are long gone, no more rentals got enough trucks,a and springsteen will be half deben/redburns

Noddy had left the band by that time, i was assigned to Dave Hill and Don Powell, both top blokes, Don Powell makes Ozzy Osbourne look like a Choir boy, absolute anything goes party animal.
You’re not kidding !!,they haven’t changed I was very taken aback by how fanatical and obsessed their middle aged fans really are. I was warned upfront by their manager about the crazy fans.
