While travelling through France the Tour De France actually ‘OWN’ the road it is travelling for the day, total control the TDF rules.I just hope our own
jobsworths don’t get carried away and make the route inaccessable for the fans.Which is my wife, she must like men in lycra,I have just travelled
down from Sheffield to the West Country in the rig and when washed n packed will drive all the way back up again to view the TDF.
Love the French.
Was on my way to Hull this morning at 9.30 am - ish and passed on the opposite carriageway a convoy of around 50 UK police motorcycles with around the same number again french gendarmes on their blue liveried motorcycles, vans and a fleet of mini cabriolet cars with Ibis budget banners bolted to the back. When i returned home yesterday teatime i saw and heard 7 camera helicopters flying overhead in a V - formation, most impressive i have to say. made me feel like a little kid all over again.
I’m a massive fan and watch it every year on Eurosport.
I’d confine it to the likes of Silverstone etc mind I wonder how many will come a cropper on our poorly maintained roads
Nick 2008 wakey, wakey passed over part of the route yesterday,if you want your local road
network sorted go down on bended knee and BEG the Tour to come your way.

Was having a break on the a61 near harrogate today when the green and black lycra wearing team got tugged by a rather upset traffic rozzer and got a rollicing for not stopping at the roundabout back the road and causing a car to take evasive action, after lots of shoulder shrugging and arm waving and clipboard throwing and a warning from the rozzer they were let loose to harass the motoring public of yorkshire again.

[zb] that, they should all be on cycle paths
So you are saying they’ve actually repaired the pot holes rather than just drawn chalk round them for months on end. Great Britain?
