Tough choice to choose a job

sent out cvs and had a really good response, started working at one company and loved it but the very day I started I got a call with a job offer from a company ive been trying to get into for a year. there holidays better and working hours are less and better but the company I work for now pays more and the people are great to work with. torn between which one to go with, current jobs more stressfull which is why more money but its hard as the 2nd job should be closer when we move soon. struggling to work out which one to go for

Lucky you, wish someone would offer me my dream job…

So what are you looking for here , a ■■■■■■■ medal or a kick up the arse?

whys that?

Fewer hours, closer to home, more holidays, less stress … that’d be the one I’d go for. You’re lucky to have the choice.

that’s what im thinking but get more money here and enjoy working there. would hate to give it up if the other company was ■■■■ to work for

You really need to grow a brain, that will help you make a decision you know.

I had the same problem 25 years ago but unfortunately for me I picked the wrong one, and left the job I chose 3 months later, which meant the other job had gone.

ps. Ignore the troll.

Ken.

Thats nice. Why do people feel the need to insult someone they dont even know, really baffles me lol …but then maybe its because i dont have a brain :unamused:

I’ve noticed mr truckbling has posted on 3 different topics this morning. Everyone seems to be along the same lines ie rude, ignorant and less than helpfull. I don’t think he’s a very happy chappy within himself.

You’re very fortunate to have the choice, which is down to the fact both places obviously see that you’re the sort of bloke they want. That’s not luck, that’s what comes from how you make yourself known and give people what they need for them to perceive you in the right way. Ignore the insults from the jealous minority, stuck in a rut and struggling to see over the sides.

I’ve never applied nor taken up an offer of employment through need. I have only ever done the jobs I have felt I have wanted to do. I don’t believe you can give an employer what they want of you if you don’t enjoy the job. The danger is that the employer relaxes as he/she can see you’re settled and the wages become under par - I’ve experienced that too. With sleep and work making up the majority of your weeks’ hours, I would make sure you enjoy the job firstly and secondly, does it give you what you want outside of work too. For a better fmily life, you could maybe endure a little more hassle at work. Or, if family life isn’t so much of an issue, go for the enjoyment. You can make your own mind up on the wages because only you know what you need in the bank each month.

Just my two pence worth, hope it’s helpful.

Good post.

Sometimes it’s more about liking what you do than a few more pounds at the end of the week.
