Touchscreen phone :( rubbish

My LG Viewty stopped working today, or rather the touch screen part of it did, so now I can’t use it as everything is worked, menus accessed etc by the touch screen. Its only about a year old, and I know things aren’t built to last these days, but I can’t afford to pay out for a new phone, anyone know if its a common fault? or how cheap/otherwise it would be to get sorted out?

TIA

Jon

i use a spv m500,the touch screen sometimes freezes on this , i just remove the battery for 30 secs and turn back on ,works for me.

i got a google phone that doesn’t work properly. they say it’s had a small amount of moisture thats damaged the circuitry and thus isn’t covered by warrantry!
i now think phones should stay as phones and not try to be all singing and dancing computers

My mate had a nokia die on him, first repair company to look at it claimed it was water damage, there was no sign of it. And yes, the shop that sent it off said they were telling porkies too, because there are water sensitive stickers inside the case to show if water got in. Sent it off to another authorised repair center, and all went well. Go back to your shop Mr B, and get them to send it off to another repair center.

No idea why your viewty is toast Garner, mine has never been treated well, and it’s still working just fine. One too many trips to the ground from the driving seat of a DAFt 105 has scratched the case to buggery, but it’s fine, and my mate’s one is also fine. Maybe you just got a lemon one mate.

“SHE” has a Samsung Tocco that she dropped down the toilet but daren’t tell me. However her mate got ■■■■■■ and then told me :stuck_out_tongue: What can I do? is it knackered or can they be repaired without a remortgage?

can try putting it on the radiator, but water and phones dont mix well  so im guessing its knackered tbh m8

I had to have a water damaged phone repaired once expecting to have to sell my soul to cover the cost.
I was very surprised when it come to £15.00.

It is more the inconvience factor though.
