Ignoring it is a no no, they will take you to court no matter what. Even if you put your address by any means such as delibrately or by mistake, they still take you to court in your absence and fine you. The first you will know of it is when you move address or the bailiff chases you up from your driving license details and you wont just have the £60 fine and 3 points, you will have something like a £300 fine, 3 points and hundreds in bailiff fees with no defence. They have you by the gonads now in this country, especially if you are native. If you aren’t then don’t worry.
If you do ignore it and pay the extra fine and don’t attend court, they can’t take your license away as you have to be present, but i don’t know how it works after that ! Only a court has the power to remove your license.

Given the intense pressure the police and courts are under, workload, cutbacks etc and based on my own personal experience, I find it surprising that some of you lot think the system is fool proof.

Yep. The warrant would be for a summons and the evidence will be for the court.
Before you jump the gun, The NIP has been answered by his boss with the drivers details. Now the NIP then will be past onto the courts with the details and bosh, they will want to speak to him so a letter will be sent. No reply and then a warrant

Only problem now is an employer can phone DVLA and do a licence check. When I was signing up for agencies they’d do that. They’d ring DVLA, pass the phone over to you where you would tell someone that you gave them permission to reveal your licence info then pass the phone back to the woman at the agency who would then ask how many points you had.
So whilst it might work for the arse end hauliers, it won’t with the decent ones.

Thats a load of bollox. They can convict you in your absence and ban you. From that point on, you’re driving illegally regardless of what is on the bit of paper you call a licence.

I’m not going to waste my time arguing the toss with you on this one cos we’ve been there before.
But… if the OP is using a digicard, it doesn’t matter if he’s tramping or not because his gaffer’s records will show him to be driving. Assuming he ignores the NIP’s and gets banned “in absentia” then he AND his gaffer will end up far deeper in the ■■■ than they’d want to be. He’d get done for driving whilst disqualified, gaffer could get done for causing and permitting same, bye-bye O-licence.

Why cant you get banned for not attending court. It will say in the letter that they will proceed without you in attendance.

Can’t do the time don’t do the crime, end of! You broke the law, got caught and now you are wondering what is gonna happen? Man up and accept your punishment. IMHO you have now been caught 4 times for 3 point type offences, be it speeding traffic signals etc, you are clearly not a very good driver, maybe it is for the best eh? Get an Oyster card and a new job, preferably away from driving big dangerous vehicles, when my wife and kids are walking along the pavement being potential victims for your careless driving, end of rant
