Totally unrelated to trucks . But has anyone tried blue eggs

whilst shopping in Tesco I came across some Tesco Finest blue something or other eggs . Looked inside the box and the eggs are actually blue . I love trying new stuff so had to buy them . I’ve given them to my mum to cook me a breakfast as my misses is crap at cooking , so I’ll have to wait a few days before I can sneak across to try them as my misses hates me eating at my mums , so I do it on the quiet . Anyone tried them ? I think they was called blue araucana eggs or something like that . If anyone’s interested I’ll report back what they tasted like .

Not a great deal of difference in taste.

I’d be a bit gutted if that’s true Karl as I paid £2.25 for six eggs , and they looked quite small. Still had to be done .

They are just eggs from a breed of chicken that lay eggs with naturally blue shells. Tasty though and the yolks are quite rich and yellow, not those washed out yellow yolks you sometimes get. I buy them sometimes.

Thanks Coffee. Your right I never buy normal eggs now , always free range . The difference in colour is like a bright summers day compared to a dull grey November day. I’ve actually gone off cafes because of this reason . Well that and cafes always seem to sell cheap tasteless sausages , I’d rather pay more and get a decent sausage and proper yellow yoked egg than the dire fare served up in most cafes.

Solve the problem easy then & learn to cook yourself then you can cook breakfast for her at times

Don’t be silly , I can obvious cook up a bit of bacon and egg , but er indoors don’t work and is glued to the settee watching that scumbag Jeremy Kyle, I’m not cooking for her when I’m going to work . My mum only lives about 100 yards away from me , I’ll let her do what mums do best and spoil their only son :sunglasses:

We switched to duck eggs about 10 years ago when a local farm started to keep free range ducks, the eggs are bigger and have much more flavour and are always fresh. Somtimes they are blue from one breed of duck.
Would not touch chicken eggs now.

Blue duck eggs , got more taste than hens eggs, goose eggs are stronger again in taste & a much tougher shell to break. The realy bright yellow in the hens eggs is added colourant in the feed or certainly used to be ( not sure if that still used or is legal these days), free range eggs are tasty although youd be better not knowing what the hens eaten !!

Blue eggs and free range all the time. Much better than mass produced lifeless stuff from the supermarkets.
They also keep a lot longer from laying, but you need to keep them a week or so before hard boiling as they don’t shell very well
Cheers
Paul

You are right there sonflowerinwales, fresh eggs boiled never seem to peel easy, you loose half of it stuck to the shell
