Hey Guys
I’ve been going through the LGV Theory Book and the numerous programs I have to help me pass my path. I’m becoming increasingly aggrevated by stupid questions that are in it, that are toally irrelevant to being able to operate a vehicle safely, and it could be the difference between passing or failing your theory.
IE: Which of these parts are in an internal combustion engine. OR Commercial Vehicles have been shown to have been involved in sleep related incidents, how much percentage of this is commercial vehicles?
Seriously, how does this determine how you operate a vehicle safely? What if I’m one away from getting a fail and one of these two pathetic questions come up and I don’t know the answer? (I don’t need to know the answer!!)
/Rant

Understand your possible frustration but the items you mention are surely very related to the safe operation of trucks. EG if you have no idea about the workings of an engine, how can you interpret warning lights and/or strange noises? And although I agree that the percentage of drivers having sleep related accidents is not important, the surrounding issue is.
Best of luck with the test. Rather than resent having to learn this stuff, just take it on board as there’s loads more coming your way that really will be vital to you making a career out of driving.

sam mate dont worry about the theory 1 got a 100% just think safety all the time i understand your rant though sometimes when you read it you think why ?
Well I done a mock theory test using my DVD BEFORE I started reading the Theory book.
Since reading the theory book (and finishing it) I have done a further three. The results:

i found hazard part harder i only got 87%
Hazard perception doesn’t really bother me, I’ve always scored well in it touch wood.
