Hello All, new to the forum and just wondered if anyone has had any dealing with Total driving, they are based in Stowmarket, Suffolk? I will be doing my cat c training with them in three weeks time. Any feedback I would be really grateful.
Firstly, welcome to the forum.
I have had a look at the recomended list of training schools in Suffolk and there aren’t any. It doesn’t mean to say that there aren’t any that are any good in Suffolk, just that nobody has recomended any.
I have also taken a look at the website for Total and they seem to be ok.
Their trucks look to be fairly new and the reversing pad looks to be good condition. This all helps a good training experience.
As for anyone, I woiuld suggest that you ring them and book an assessment. It gives you an idea of the type of school they are. They may charge a small fee, and then take it off the cost of a booked course.
Have you got your provisional? Have you done any of the theory tests?
Let us know how you get on.
Dean
Thanks for the speedy reponse, I’m going to have look round at the place tomorrow morning. I’ve had my medical and got my licence back from the Dvla. Also passed my multiple choice theory and hazard perception. They look like a pretty good honest company from the things I’ve seen. I have been quoted £975 which includes test fees for my cat c training which is 1 on 1, 5 day course and test on the last day. It seems a good price from looking around. What do you think?

From the website it seems that they have some nice vehicles and the courses are at reasonable prices
They also recommend an assessment which is another sign of a good school
Family run company according to site …
I am surprised that these have not come to our attention before now

Maybe the OP will be the first to do so …

It’s a good price for what you are saying is included.
Just be 100% sure before giving them your hard earned dosh.
I’ll let you know how it goes. Thanks for the advice.
Will you need - Driver CPC Initial Qualification — £245 - totaldriving.net/lgv-hgv-training/prices/ or do you have a LGV C1 on your licence already ?
I need to do my cpc training.
Good morning to you all
As this is a first post I believe it is good practice to introduce myself. My name is Antony, I am one of the directors of Total Driving (UK) Ltd based in Stowmarket, Suffolk. We provide driver training for B, BE, C1, C, CE, D1 & D. As well as Initial and Periodic Driver CPC.
I can confirm that Sam1234 will be visiting us today in order to have a chat and hopefully confirm his Category C booking with us.
I look forward to us, hopefully, being able to be an active member of the forum and be able to assist with any questions users may have on driver training.
Cheers
Antony
Welcome TD/Anthony
There are already a few LGV trainers on here helping newbies but input from another is always welcome
I had not heard of your company before yesterday so how long have you been doing LGV training ?
PS - I am impressed by your website
Morning Roger
We have been providing LGV training now for almost 2 years. Things started with my wife becoming an ADI over 8 years ago. When we moved to Suffolk just over 4 years ago we started providing BE training as we had a lovely new MPTC in Ipswich. The natural progression was to do C1, followed by C and then CE - for which we use an artic.
Thank you for the compliment on the website, it was completed revamped at the beginning of last year.
Cheers
Antony
Good morning Anthony - and welcome.
Pete

Just coming up for 6 years - we have our own private test centre at our premises in Flint too
- no fun here today, about 6-9 inches of snow so far
John
That is good to have your own testing facility.
I have just seen some pictures a mate has posted on Facebook in Mynydd Isa - doesn’t look like he is going far today, saying that he didn’t make it to the end of his road yesterday morning before giving up!
Now that looks like THE people to do your LGV training with in Suffolk
