Our 6wheelers all carry between 15,4-15.70. The Fodens are slightly lighter but there’s not much in it;the 12litre Cat engines would be a bit heavier but the Dafs and Volvos have adblue and all that comes with it.

How come Nathan that you wern’t on the group photo at Gaydon with Marcus,Dave and Andrew and son? Don’t tell me---- you tried to be on but they told you to “■■■■” off !!! Cheers Dennis.

We never saw him Dennis,or if we did,we wouldn’t have known him.Everyone had caps and coats on,fair play it was ■■■■■■■ down,but a good show.We hope the September show will be fine weather.It was only by chance that Marcus spotted me and Andrew appeared at the same time with Harry.
Cheers Dave.

I wasn’t inside a great deal, I used the weather to get pictures without “guests appearing”. I did keep an eye out, I should’ve worn my Smiths shirt over my coat :smiley:

Parked with the daisies at Duns Tew Pit-note I’ve added “bling” to the grille so I can be spotted for the “Whos’ seen who threads”… :sunglasses:

We believe you ,thousands wouldn’t! and you can get that bling off the grille,looks like your in the “Lord Mayors parade” !!! Dennis.

This one was taken at Bampton Manor; the covered area is being excavated for an underground cinema :open_mouth:
The “muck” should be easy to recycle; it’s gravel (so I look half loaded when the weigher says 15ton)

The Manor has been bought by a well known newsreader and her husband (no wonder our TV licenses cost so much)…

Just had a look on DVLA website; Apparently D704 PWL is still alive and well and taxed until Feb 2012. That should please Dad and Windrush :smiley: 25 years as a tipper, not bad going…

The lanes that run around Bampton Manor are not great for turning 8wheelers so this was the builders’ solution on Friday (I’m sure the wall was leaning more by the end of the day :laughing: )

I was going to delete this one as it seemed a little dark but then I quite liked the silhouette effect

did i pass one of your places on my way to hills shobum i think only been there once used to load out of hansons fairford

If it was near Hansons’ at Fairford, it was Bardon Aggs pit at Kempsford; We collect odd loads of concrete (sharp in old money) sand from there. We’ve got a gravel pit at Ducklington (Gill Mill) Soft sand pit at Duns Tew (just off Banbury-Oxford road) and Limestone quarries at Ardley (Dewars Farm), Bekstone (Burford Road, Brize Norton) and Whitehill (Burford-Oxford Road but currently mothballed.)

From BigLorryBlog;
The Ardley Quarry fuel bowser (note the retro-fitted walkway for H&S reasons)

I’m not sure whether Smiths still own this as I haven’t seen it since the new Ardley pit opened. It’s been well looked after for a quarry-only vehicle, so a possible restoration project?

Do you pick soft sand from Tubney Woods (A420) or from Bowling Green (A417), or from their gravel pit? We used to run sand for RMC from Tubney to Hardwick plant for use in mortar mixing.
