I have seen Tracy before :open_mouth: , but not stacey  , hope she is a size 10 , big ■■■■■ , small arse and does not smoke or swear .

Got to be a 10, haven’t heard her swear or at least mouth “'king shovel drivers!” not seen her smoke and I’m not making any body comments incase she reads this…
Allways gives a friendly wave but that’ll change in time
She doesn’t have to be first in the queue in the morning either…

How I started on Smiths way back on 15th February 1999; This 970F was one of only a handfull to operate in the UK, and this one (according to rumours) is doing a Ronnie Biggs and working in Brazil.

godd tool nathan

It was really quiet wasn’t it? The bucket was hopeless for loading soil as material allways stuck in it easily, which must be a Cat thing as the 972 is just the same.
Do you remember those early L series Volvos, the 160 and 120 that were at Gill Mill and the 90 that was at Duns Tew? Brilliant machines.

The plant can process over 200t p/h yet we’re struggling to keep up with demand for sharp sand. Not surprising when you consider when Gill Mill opened in '89, there were local gravel pits at Stanton Harcourt (Smiths and ARC), Hardwick (Smiths Concrete), Standlake (Sands and Gravels) and Cassington (ARC); Gill Mill is the only one still operating.

Hi Mucka, Did you get my P.M.?

BigG-Unit:
Hi Mucka, Did you get my P.M.?

Yes I did George, but I can’t reply thanks to pre mod rules, so I thought I’d wait til I saw you were on here. Not sure what I’ll be doing (apart from work) at the moment.

I noticed the other day the recovery sling/shackle on your battery box; that looks good but have you needed it yet?
You’ll have to persuade Stacy to register on here; the viewing figures’ll go up

Here’s one of the pics (I wonder what Mr Smith will think  )

It quotes “security system”. That would be the crap Celect immobiliser that arms about 10 seconds after you’ve turned the engine off; Forget the button sequence on a busy weighbridge and you’ll be popular (as I discovered once  )

Just had a pm from new member, Armstrong: He owns W844 and has refurbished it by amongst others, uprated the engine from 345 to 405 and swapped the gearbox to a 13 speed Fuller :open_mouth: :sunglasses:

One of your old gals parked in Nigel Wood’s yard at Whatstandwell Nathan, been there a while so I am guessing that will be either his next wage earner or a show vehicle! Probably the former. :sunglasses:

Pete.

What is it Pete, 6 or 8? Didn’t catch the reg did you?
Drivers whinged like mad about those 3 and 4000s but they kept going and could take a caning from the roughest drivers.
W844 was a bit tired when it went but was still a great (if a bit thirsty) drive; Now running at 405bhp mmmmmmm

Not one of our old ones, but this old girl operated by Amy King regularly works for us and seen here loading at Duns Tew sandpit.

Another od who does a lot for Smiths is Paul Inns whos’ family used to own Buckingham Aggregates; Here loading at Gill Mill.

A regular customer of Smiths is Minster Paving who’ve operated this E reg Freighter from new. Has a payload of nearly 11.200t (if you can squeeze it on  )

One of Tnet member Neil Bs’ wagons waiting to tare in at Gill Mill.

New girl Stacey getting loaded with 20mm ballast.

This Liebherr 906 is normally used to load the recycling crusher and screener but has been feeding the washing plant for the last 2 days.

That dont normally happen breakdown or belt move nathan

The Powerscreen Commander (feeds the field conveyor) broke down on Friday. It’s done 23000+ hours though.
Not sure how many hours it’s done but the Cat 953C (Drott to many) is still going strong and so I was told today, new 972K ordered for Ardley.
It’s interesting having the 3 Gill Mill shovels all from different manufacturers; I drove the Volvo and thought it felt old fashioned and not much different to the L160 they had years ago. Liebherr’s allright but I’d go for Cat anyday :sunglasses:
