Depends whether you want the fastest route or the easiest route. Depending what type of work you do, there will be little difference in truth. Easiest route will stick to motorways and A roads where possible, which also tend to be the fastest routes if you’re covering any sort of distance. Even on more urban routes they will still be largely the same to avoid the usual restrictions

Just out of interest, which is the best LGV SatNav or App to buy?

One that chooses suitable Roads, avoids low bridges and lists the best cafes

But non of them are perfect! TomTom and Garmin have a unique auto blank at about 3.5-4 years… you can then pay £50-60 to have it lifted. That for me is a NO NO… perhaps I am just old fashioned. Each satnav needs to be checked out if possible on a road with loads of weight limits to see how it routes. Try your model on Queens Road, Skegness with destination PE25 2PJ. Not even the Philips Trucker’s Atlas lists this.

I use Mapfactor Navigator and have been pleased with it so far. They even allow you to have a 2nd copy (free) of the truck maps to put on your spare phone. Updates every 1/4 which I think is about right. Co-Pilot was ok but I noticed a couple of days ago that they have withdrawn it.

I have a xgody sat nav, which is the best route type to put it on, fastest or easy?

Be careful, I just bought an xgody because my trucknav(also a cheap but good satnav) was playing up, but something wasnt right with the truck maps, it tried to take me under the 13 ft 6 bridge at Penistone then day after a 13 ft 6 bridge in Wigston even though i had it set at 14 feet 6, luckily I knew about these bridges so this alerted me to the problem with the nav. I decided to delete the maps from it and copied the maps from my other nav and now it works fine…as does my trucknav because it turns out the power lead was dodgy thats all :unamused:
