Top Gear Thread

Goaty:
“Rig Stig”

Think you mean Stig of the RIG

in the same way as wossy and bland are not DJs
top gear is not a car program its what the BBC would call cutting edge entertaiment
love it or loathe thats it comedy with cars appealing to the yoof of today

rabbitboy:
Very funny but the murder comments just go to prove he is a prat of the first order

What is that all about? How did truckers get such stigma, did a trucker kill prozzies sometime ago?
I didn’t see any sense in the part about artics,it was just about messing around, and setting fire to the trailer :unamused: Made a good point about someone overtaking and then slowing down. The truck Stig version made me giggle, looking at his size,it resembled my neighbour,an ex-trucker

bugcos:
By the way how many prossies can you kill before you need a 45 minute break?

You have to have a 30 minute break every 2 murders according to Viz.

See here.

Paul

It was very good and if anything educational in a funny way to the general public.

As for the prostitute killing it’s a bit of fu, i mean how many times does he take the mick of Germans !!! and no one complains about that slur

All in all it was a good show, i mean how long have we waited for someone to point our point over on national TV? while it may not be the complete story its a start and covered important points.

Hill starts, gear changes, getting cut up, tight corners and stopping safely for some.

Great show and well done. Not sure about driving thruogh buildinggs, water and a wall though! Bet Clarkson was bricking it though!!!

change gear, change gear, change gear, change gear, change gear, change gear, murder a prostitute, change gear, change gear, change gear, murder a prostitute, change gear, change gear, change gear

Laughed my arse off funniest top gear for a long time

Fastrantiger:
Top Gear this Sunday DONT MISS

thanks for the tip, I would’nt watch Jeremy ‘up my own arse’ Clarkson if you paid me, though the other two blokes are ok. Top Gear was pretty good until Clarkson got in on the act.

Tiger.

Top gear was dying on its arse before Clarkson got in on the act and did the new format, it was boring and predictable in the days of William Woollard and Tiff Nidell. Maybe you should flick over and watch Fifth Gear, that is also dying on its arse and is very much like what Top Gear used to be like.
Each to there own

I thought that it was the funniest thing I have ever seen them do,
watching Clarkson hanging on for dear life in the magnum was hilarious,
I drove one for six months and that is exactly what they are like.

Don’t think crashing through the brick wall did him any good though he looked terrible afterwards!

Loved the Indian themed Scania, and thought Clarksons Goliath was awesome looking, wouldnt like to drive it on a proper road though.

Hamster ripping out the road sign on the alpine course also brought back memories of a not to distant encounter with a road sign on a tight country lane (wasn’t me)

miketdt:
Enjoyed the programme, but would have been better if instead of wasting all that money smashing up trucks it would have been more entertaining if they all signed up for LGV training passing theory HP test and LGV driving test.
What are your thoughts on that?

YAWN! :unamused:

Giblsa:
i have not laughed that much for a long time.

especially when i think it was clarkson scraped the side of the scania coming out from hitching up… how many times have you nearly done that?

at least they admitted it was a hard job, in a roundabout way!!!

They also showed that no much will stop a truck. :exclamation:

So, unsecured loads can be a bit of a problem…

I wonder how many car drivers, after watching that, will stop close to the rear end of a truck on an uphill slope

It was very funny but at the same time very informative to those non-lorryists out there.

TRUCKNETUK.COM or LORRYISTSUK.COM

how the hell do you stop a truck form 90mph without killing yourself? and whats with the lack of seatbelts? vosa wouldnt be too happy with them would they

class episode though :smiley:

After last nights show I want to be a ‘Lorryist’ when I grow up to! :sunglasses:  :sunglasses:

The matt black Magnum looked evilly awsome :imp: :imp: :imp: :imp:

Great entertainment and even quite informative if you could hear the dialogue over the laughter  :sunglasses:  :sunglasses:

was I the only one to think of our very own Mr Vain when the Scania turned up all tarted up

and the missus said Clarksons Magnum looked like Goliath from Knight Rider

The thing is it deosn’t just appeal to the joof, I was round my sisters when the showed the American trip episode. Both my mother and sister where roaring with laughter. They are as far from petrol heads as you can get and would have never watched old Top Gear.
If you want serious informed information about cars then there are mags for every need from Max Power to What Car and maybe the odd car anorak show on digital.

Haha what a great topgear, they got some decent motors there for under 5 grand i think.
change gear, change gear, change gear, change gear, murder a prostitute, change ,gear change gear ,change gear haha.

and when they do that hill start and clarksons drum kit is behind it he doesn’t touch it then they run up and kick it all down hahaha.

funniest topgear inawhile.

PMSL   That was one of the best top gears for ages, still laughing at some of the comments now!

Hopefully joe public might realise what a hard job we have every day on the roads :unamused:

brilliant…

although i did email them last year asking if they could do a truck special after they did the van one.

Also topgear have now got a lifetime ban from the Millbrook testing ground after that one

I would like to point out that what you saw on the programme in no way reflects the standard required for the DSA LGV test :exclamation: - the DSA will not let you set fire to a truck - spoilsports :unamused:

Lol i didn’t get half of what you said but yeah Lol.
