Took a dog to Truckfest

I’m going to Truckfest southwest at the weekend and thinking of taking my faithful hound (4 legged one).
Anyone ever taken one and were there any problems?

Yes, and no, providing it’s good in crowds/noise.

Take plenty of water and a bowl and take them with you.

DO NOT leave the dog in your car…at TFSW one year the organisers had patrols in the car park who were ordered to smash car windows to rescue dogs from hot cars…I was in the organiser’s office and heard the radio traffic.

I’m still torn I have 3 dogs but only thinking of taking the one. As for leaving in the car I think that is horrific what some people put their dogs through. Mine are like my children.

Why can’t you leave the dog at home, it’s not cruffs, I’m sure it will be able to survive a 10 hr stint without a stroke of its fur.

Could you survive a 10hour day without using the loo?

Yes, easily! Why take your dog somewhere that it’s going to ■■■■ and ■■■■ all over the place in a family environment. Where are you going to put it’s logs when it’s parted with last night’s pedigree chum?Unless it’s a guide dog it should be at home.

You most likely know the routine if your dog zbs pick it up and dispose in a bin.I would have a dog before some people that I have met.I have been to the truck fest at Edinburgh ,it was not particularly noisy.Leaving a dog in a car is so stupid, also leaving one for 10 hours is just too long.

I have seen people with worse ‘toilet habits’ than a dog at Truckfests past.

Would you, after entertaining one of Peterborough’s ‘ladies of the night,’ throw your used condoms out of your truck window, knowing the public are going to be walking around it the next day?

Would you, if you were working on a food stall, go for a ■■■■ still wearing your ‘clean’ apron, then when you had finished, wipe you finger on it, pick your nose and wander back to your burger stand?

“OK, who’s next?”

Ive said it before, the more people I meet, the more I like dogs!
My Collie has cleaner toilet habits than my bloody 19 year old step son, dirty little ■■■■■■■■

you don’t really think that’s brown sauce and onion on the apron do you :unamused:

My daughter took her Yorkie, when we went a couple of years ago, without any problems. The biggest problem was a very large owl that was on display decided the Yorkie would make a very good lunch. So we beat a very hasty retreat

My Mrs is not interested in going

Well I just got back from Truckfest and I’d like to report my Shar-Pei behaved very well. The people were great and loved my little hound.
A funny thing happened however. Outside the stobart shop my doggie had a dump. Being a responsible dog owner I picked it up in a poop bag. My son then offered to transport said poop bag to the bin for £1. Imagine my surprise when willy stobart ran out and offered to do it for 75p.
