going over woodhead this morning,i met a rigid on a sharp corner that was carrying a portacabin/chalet type thing.it was overhanging each side by a good two and half feet, and because he had a wall on his nearside it was overhanging the centre line.
it`s a good job i was going steady, because we both had to stop…and in the end i just squeezed past with my n/s front wheel on the pavement.
my question is…is this a suitable route for this load?
I suppose it depends where he was going really, without knowing that I don’t see how anyone could say whether it was a suitable road or not.
Having said, that if it was that wide and he needed to travel on that road surely he should have had an ■■■■■■ travelling in front to warn on-coming traffic.
If it that was wide it would require a police authorisation and should really have had an attendant in an ■■■■■■ vehicle rather than sat alongside. A police authorisation will determine the route to be taken.
However it may not have had all of the above, or it may have been coming or going from somewhere along that road. (although that would seem unlikely!)
