Decided to update the satnav the other day, not done it for a while, new speed cameras and maps and things.
Anyway, going down the M56 noticed that the speed limit has changed between J9-J7 both ways, apparently according to TomTom it’s now a 49mph motorway.
It also had the M6 shap area at 60mph, A5117 off J14 M56 at 19MPH.
Anyone else had issues with a TomTom, it’s just a basic widescreen UK and Ireland one.

Updated my TOMTOM and if your coming onto the A1 at the Colsterworth roundabout from the A151 it tells you to turn left and take the fly over to join the A1 northbound, only prob is fly over is there but the road leading to it is’nt yet, still under construction!!!
One always has to remember that the Tom Tom is simply a navigation aid and you have to do the real life thinking. There have been occasions when my Tom Tom has been on a wind-up with some of the roads it was suggesting I use.
I’ve heard that TomTom has 2 speed limits in it. The first set is displayed so you can see what the speed limit is. The second set is hidden and used to calculate the time it takes to do the trip. For example a it will display 60 as the limit on the Woodhead pass (single c/w nat limit if you don’t know it) but actually uses alot lower to calculate the route as there’s no way you’ll be doing 60 around those bends (tho I’ve seen people trying ).
Sometimes the 2 speeds seem to get mixed up.
There’s a website (pocketgps or something like that) that lets you download speed cams for less than £20 a year with as many updates as you like. This flashes up the speed limit as you approach them in case you’ve missed the signs.
