TomTom 520 Sytem Upgrade

Hi all, can I ask a total novices question?

I plugged my TT 520 into my computer on the TT home page the other day and it said that a new version is available to up grade.
However, to do the upgrade it said that there wasnt enough space on my 520 and that I had to delete some stuff that was already on there and gave a list of some maps, voices, POI etc and their value in GB`s

Now im a complete computer novice so Im worried that if I just go ahead and delete the items that it showed on the list and then uploaded the new software, will it replace / update what I have deleted??

Im just worried that I may be deleting something that I wont be able to replace and render my unit un-usable!!

Any points or info most welcome.

I believe you’ll have to get a bigger SD/MMC card if you don’t already have one, iirc it’s got 512MB of on board flash memory and that may not be enough.

I have a Go500 and when the software needed it’s first upgrade I tried to delete the application to fit on the new one on and things went ■■■■ up  I did have a backup though  , so please ensure that you back it up before any upgrade.

Thanks for that MB, I will lookout for a larger SD card. As for making a back up, i take it that there is a button or a tab or something top do this with!!

I know that it downloads whats in the satnav into the computer but how do i then re-install (upload!!) the stuff if i lose it on the satnav??

Cheers once again.

Bullitt.
