TOMTOM 520 help!

Arrgh, have a tomtom520go to replace my old navman. Second hand off a workmate. I’ve downloaded tomtom home however the map on the device still seems out of date, also (and more importantly) the truck map I’ve got won’t work. I can boot it up and put in the dimensions of my wagon however get the message of /the current map does not contain truck attributes.truxck routing can therefore not be supported/

Does anyone knoe how I can update the maps and get my truck map (on the sd card btw) working? Is this something to do qwith patchind and/or the navcore?

Try a different keygen - Fastactivate is a good one.

It’s because the keygen you’ve used hasn’t created a tmeta dct file, only a meta dct file, assuming you’ve actually put a truck map on

don 't think the tomtom truck works on the 520

i was going to do it a while ago

It does work in a 520 spanky . But you may have to upload a new bootloader to make a 4gb card work in it .

my mistake, it is the *10 series that it doesn’t work on

I used to use a Tomtom Go 910 with the truck map and it was fine, a bit slower than the 730 I use now but still good

Don’t know about the other 10 models though.

ive got and still use a tomtom 910, had it since 1997, never updated any maps since i bought it, and it hasnt got a slot to put an sd card in.

I read that if you update the patched version off tt truck it automatically disabled any patched maps I don’t know if this is true

The 910 has a 20 gig hard drive, the truck navcore and maps go straight on the hard drive, as do any other new maps or navcore updates

It will but if you use fastactivate it should work after that

I’ve got a 520 that it works fine on.

I’ve also done a lot of 710’s this last couple of weeks, have to upgrade the firmware by putting the system file onto a small card before it’ll accept a bigger card, and have to use an SE navcore, the 8.396 is better on them than the 8.398 because with the latter, you lose the option for vehicle specs in the change preferences menu, so can only change vehicle when navigating to …

I like the 710, because I use my tt as my bluetooth hands free, and the 710 can have a seperate mic and speaker…

todate have done 8 tomtom go 520/530 etc and all work fine no worries
just updated maps /navcore to 890 4266 and latest navore plus fast activate .
you have to alter weight/height/length etc on the northbound section of dartford xing but after that should be ok
(north m6 takes you off and on junction 11 if you avoid toll road)
