Tom Tom problem.

While trying to update my ancient TomTom One, I seem to have broken it. It won’t go past the screen with the two red hands.

This has happened before, and the nice lady at TomTom talked me through restoring it from my pc. Unfortunately TomTom no longer offer support for the TomTom One, and I can’t remember what I did, except it was through “My Documents” on my pc.

I’ve tried to work out what to do but can’t, and the problem is compounded by the fact that the TomTom and the pc do not seem to recognise each other now.

I’ve tried the reset button, that turns it off but when I start it up again I just get back to the red hands splash screen.

What should I do?

First grab a beer or coffee and a smoke, this may take a while.

What is the PC running XP, Vista :smiling_imp: or Win 7?

Does the PC recognise a USB device has been plugged in i.e. beep or give a prompt on screen?

A note of any on screen messages would be good, screen shots would be better.

Ta, managed to restore it from my old pc now.
