It was announced that The Humber Bridge has closed its toll booths and all staff are working from home. If you dont have a TAG you have to pay the toll before the end of the next day.
This has caused quite a furore in the local area and in the press /social media.
One thing interested me was the amount of people who do not have any form of payment plan, cards etc.
I asked how he draws money out and he said he goes to the bank with his passport and driving licence!!!
If the bridge is operating ok without staff (media always manage to find some boring moaning minnie to complain to fill another 2 minute section of non news), sounds like another bunch of people going to be jobless when all this is over, they’ll join the millions of others employers all over the world cast off in due course.

It works at the Dartford Crossing and for the Congestion charge. I just could not be arsed having to go to the bank to draw out cash, if you can find a branch open, maybe it is our fault that branches are closed, but there are not many where you can park an artic in the car park or outside the building society.
Mersey tunnel is free as well. All.the.booths are locked up. Just drive up and barrier opens
