I think you’ll find kate has done more miles in reverse than you’ve done going forward
We have a premium that does that can’t find the leak.

I drove a Renault premium with auto box the other day and could not find reverse! There was nobody around to ask and I was going out solo, and luckily I was able to drive off site without reversing. I stopped down the road and eventually worked it out. It was a bit weird it just had D and N on one switch then there was a separate one for R but you had to leave the other one in D before selecting R.
I think the stalk/buttons on the premium is the worst design ever, on the odd occasion I was knocking the headlights off when I was wanting to indicate. I looked like one of those idiot truckers that turn all their lights off to say thanks for flashing in. Luckily we only have 1 of these ■■■■■■ wagons on hire so chances of me driving it often are slim, rest of the time I am driving a 14 plate FH. Yum 
Don’t have a problem with them at all as someone who hates autos I can live with the premium
