Heading through East Kilbride today minding my own business not a care in the world then BANG followed by some weird and wonderful noises . After the initial thought of WHAT THE ■■■■ was that I get the cab up, turns out it was a nice easy diagnosis .
Never seen a turbo let go like that before
Then the fitter turns up with his diagnosis " it’s ■■■■■■" and after that technical masterclass he leaves .
Next to turn up was recovery, a decent bloke with a very impressive trailer.
The first time in 4 years the truck has let me down , I suppose it had to happen some time
Just glad it did’nt let go up the West coast or on one of the islands or the profit for the month would have been ■■■■■■.

Yeh mate just along from Morrisons.
What,s the chance of asking the manufacture/workshop IF they might
be willing to check the Turbo for metal fatigue, defect, and so perhaps
help out with a discount by the following repairs, worth trying they can
only say yes or no.

I think the answer would be a definite no.
The trucks just short of 9 years old now and as far as I know the turbo is original .
Wow you didn’t try turning the boost up to get more power did you?
Just hope nothing got sucked onto the engine
if your paying for it out your own pocket look at holset turbo’s they make them for scania and price is less than half what scania will charge you for a new unit.
hope it aint to costly to get fixed and no engine damage .
last turbo i got fitted was nov last year, £1500 for the whole job (tow off motorway, remove and fit, collect new turbo) that was done by westons at crawford
That very truck and trailer came to my rescue when I broke down in a 15m Coach. There was like 1mm ground clearence at the back of the coach as it got pulled up the trailer. The guy also wrapped the chain round some sort of front chassis bar that also had a wiring loom running along it and the chain cut through the loom making the horn sound and the lights flash haha
