Today

Is YORKSHIRE DAY.
A day when all pure bred tykes celebrate being part of this wonderful land of ours called YORKSHIRE. I have prepared, I had my hair styled (all 3 of em), so as to look my best, my staff has got a few white roses, I shall pin one to my hi vis vest when I set off shortly to the pub, boots have had their annual taste of polish and they look resplendent.
I expect all you tykes to celebrate in a like manner. :stuck_out_tongue:

Good on ya mate. You can tell a Yorkshire-man…but you can’t tell him much.

Hope your having ‘Yorkshire’ Pudding for dinner ?

I am, home made, non of this Aunt Bessies stuff.
My staff and myself have had a ride over the tops, down into Delph, back over Standedge and down to The Riverhead pub, Marsden. A couple of pints of fine Yorkshire bitter, a pork pie and a lump of black pudding from the sandwich shop across the street. Lots of folk enjoying the day at The Riverhead, sat in the sun and supping ale.
It’s hell is this retirement but somebody has got to do it, it might as well be me.

I thought black pudding was from lancashire? and pork pies are leicestershire
(melton mowbray)?

yorkshire has gone all multicultural now kev , and anyway a yorkshireman will eat owt if it’s cheap or free . i bet that put a dent in the pension , all that mileage in a big posh jaguar . charity begins at home i yorkshire

An even bigger dent with the way my staff sups, hell, when she’s got her drinking britches on she costs a fortune.

Big posh Jaguar ■■? it’s only worth about 2p. now. I’d always wanted one, never could afford, so when I retired I thought “now or never”, and I bought it new.
They depreciate like a lead brick. But, it’s mine, it’s payed for so it’ll last me out.
