tobacco alley

where in irun is tobacco alley,i have a delivery into gibraltar the 14th and was wondering where the best place to buy tobacco(for my own consumption)all help apreciated

It doesnt have to be for “Your own consumption” does it, as far as ime aware . . .unless they have moved the goalposts, i thought it was “for your own use” ie gifts for family etc etc.

I was in Irun on Weds night.
I assume you will get your limits in Gib.

If you come off at j1 on AP8 just before the border look to your left and you will see trucks parked up.
I have got a reciept from where I went ,in the van will pm you the address even if just somewhere to head for, the shop was by the car park anyway.

There isn’t an alley as such just a few shops scattered around.

Tobacco was around 48 euros. English cigs were around 36 euros.

If you are going to Gib you will only be able to bring 200 cig’s or ten baccy out, and one litre of spirit,it’s well cheap there, I park outside and walk accross as many tme’s as i can when parked for the weekend, in the winter you could stick another 200 or pouchs in your pockets, if they stop you at frontier sometimes they will put you on the computor and won’t let you bring anything else that day, you are only allowed to bring 200 cig’s from gib into the uk as they are duty free, if you buy them at irun park in Zaisa one and walk through the customs building , then buy cig’s at the TOBBACO signed shop it is the spanish govenments shops, and the price’s are fixed the other shop’s are a bit dearer, if you get stopped in France with more than four sleeves per cab you may have a problem :frowning:

If your weekended do a Gib walk through everyday,
For the price of a pint some of the local ex pats will bring some through when they are walking to/from work

this is the 3rd trip to gib and was told 200 per person, but got 10 pouches and stuck 200 cigs under the seat

just don’t get caught on the spanish side, unlike the french douanes on the way up after you’ve left spain who confiscate the contraband the guardia civil in la linea are prone to confiscating the truck

200 Bensons gold here are 22 euros 10 pack of old h bakkie 36 euros :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing:

200 B&H in gib are £15. Don’t bring out more than 200 in the truck, the fine will really make your eyes water. Park on the spanish side and walk back in to get some more. Be a bit careful where you buy, i bought some off a bloke once and they turned out to be chinese knock offs.

I,ve walked in and out 10 times in a day and no problem, but then others they are having a little crack down. You can also get a decent english breakfast in the Morrisons supermarket there.

I wouldn’t bother buying in Irun, you can buy ■■■■ at the same price in any tabac in Spain. If you going along the coast park up near the Dunnes store in Fuengirola and just walk into the town. Just opposite the bus station is a big ■■■ and baccy supermarket. If you spend a bit you get some bit and pieces as freebies.

cheers guys for all your input, now im about to throw the cat amongst the pigeons,i usually go via madrid down to granada then across the coast to gib,but im thinking of trying the road out of burgos E80 to vallaolid, then A62 to salamanca onto seville,i know its mainly single carriageway but got plenty of time to get there, any views on this route, good or bad

must be a while since you went that way as its all motorway no single carriageway, its slightly further on the kms to gib and very boring. personally i use the same route as you much more to see and more parking

Hostal Mirabel at km490 on the N-630, which runs alongside the Autoroute is a good place to be weekended, beautiful swimming pool out the back with poolside bar, plenty of parking and food good. When I first went in to get a shower, they gave me a key to one of the rooms, that was nice and clean btw, and when I asked how much I owed them for the shower they said “nothing”. Very trucker friendly, they deserve a plug

It is actuallu illegal to import any duty freefrom Gib into Spain in a commercial vehicle, and the Guardia Civil are well within their rights to confiscate any they find or you declare. That said MOST of the Guardia will turn a blind eye to 1 tube of ■■■■ - however there are a couplw who wont.

If you walk over and buy in the airport, your passport will be scanned and should you make too many “trips” to buy duty free then you will end up being clocked by the computer and inevitably be done for smuggling - it aint as easy as it used to be!!

your passport isn’t automatically scanned, it’s only if you look like a villain. No one seems to buys ■■■■ in the airport shop, they all buy in the little kiosk opposite by the bus stops. Why is that, they all seem to be the same price ?.

Is that right they are putting a tunnel under the end of the runway ?. Is it just for trucks or cars as well, will pedestrians still be allowed to walk over the runway ?.

hombre was that u in la linea weds it dont look like ur truck has moved its still in the same place as your profile pic
