I recently opened a new LTD.
Due to new laws do you think it’s better to register for VAT or not?

No straightforward answer. You will be under the limit where you have to register for VAT. But there are plenty of scenarios where it can work to your advantage to be registered even if you don’t have to be.
Strongly a suggest a consultation with a qualified accountant.

Personal opinion is don’t do it !!! But that’s just my opinion I own a construction company as well as being a trucky and my company had to be vat registered it seems like a good deal until you factor in all the additional accountancy fees and the fact you will price your self out of some jobs of your client is not vat registered themselves. I would wait until you hit the marker for vat before registering and enjoy the freedom of easy invoicing for a while.
