Does anyone remember Tivoli Transport from the Gloucester area?
They ran orange and blue Merc SK’s and Volvo FL’s in a stunning orange and blue livery.
I remember them coming down to Redruth,daily,hauling flats loaded with steel.
Tivoli were from Cheltenham. I used to subbie for them years ago on Mezario work.
i worked for tivoli for three years untill they were made bankrupt by its sister company. i drove a volvo f12 globetrotter which was orange and blue and finished on a scania 143 500 topline, it was a brilliant company to work for with many good drivers and subcontractors. dave harris who now owns and runs M L C Transport was the inspiration behind tivoli he took on the job of running it when the owners son went on holiday, it was only supposed to be for a fortnight and they only had two or three lorries back then but he did so well in those two weeks that he was left in charge and consiquently built it to a 20 vehicle company over 3 years. some of the old tivoli drivers are still with him now phil andow peter mitchell aka tuner and mark driscoll.
tivoli used to do panic runs for consort at tewkesbury when i was there on a brs contract.had a lovley young girl driver for a short time on a 16 tonner, louise i seem to remember
