Can anyone help?
I’m tipping at walki on Monday.
The address I’ve got is ray lane Preston,I’ve had a look on google maps, and it’s near garstang.
I can see that I need to go up the A6,then it looks like right fork on to the b6430.
But after that it gets a bit murky.
As it looks like there are lots of tight lanes and what have you, hopefully someone can put me right?

Bloody hell that’s some distance for you does your map stretch that far west
Ha Ha.
I am expecting a nose bleed when passing the little house on the prairie.
As you know phil I am extemporaneous.
Also extremely reluctant to get out of bed before 5am so I was having a look to see if I could camp outside.

Been there many times years ago. M6 J32 M55 Garstang. Head into Garstang along the A6 thought the Brougton traffic lights with Speedy Model on your right just before the light, So head along the A6 past a fuel Shellgarage I think it is you will then be in place called brock, then look for a fork off to your right into Gartang and then look for then you CPS gens/Pumps on your right has you turn right. Head down there past a place the sells trators on your right and just keep going over a very small bridge, Ray lane will come up on you rigth after about 700 yards. Just look for the sign for Ray Lane Ind Est on your right and the you will see a sign saying low bridge. You will look at the turn and think god its not down there, but go for it but it is narrow and twisty along Ray lane and not for trucks but it is the only way in. So drive down there and just keep going you will then see it on you right just before the low bridge.
Cheers Peter
Turn right after Golf Course.
Dave.
Thanks Dave/Pete.
I had a look at the satellite images, but I’m none the wiser.
But I have more idea now thanks.
I think it’s time to dig out my A to Z of lancs.
Like a lot of drivers I have gotten very lazy, and rely on me satnav.
But I am very nervous of relying on them at locations such as this one.
Iain.
To be honest it is very clear once you ‘are on the road’.
If I remember rightly all the junctions have signs pointing the way to Ray Lane.
Don’t worry about the low bridge signs, it’s just before the bridge. If you do hit it you’ve gone too far
Have a look at this
That’s very helpfully thank you!
With regard to the hi vis bit that makes me pretty useless.
I cannot stand wearing mucky hi vis,as soon as I get a mark on its in the wash.
If it gets fifth wheel grease on its in the bin.
But it’s a good point generally:)
it is a very narrow road , as you go over the hump back bridge over the canal , keep as far left as possible cos it is a real tight right turn into Walki, you need all the space you can give yourself… go up towards the main building and then go round to the right hand side towards the canal and then up the side of the building… it is a dead end but there is room to screw it around. the office is in a portakabin… they are good lads and should keep you right. same again when you come out, give yourself plenty of swing, hope this google streetview helps, walki is the buildings on your right… the entrance is just over the canal bridge… BE BRAVE,
Cheers for that pal.
I suppose the place was built back in the horse and cart days?
I’m sure we have all been to more inaccessible places, but all the same,WHY?
Is it a gypsum plant or something?
No. they are a paper converter company, they take in big reels and cut it to sheets… they’ve been there donkeys, (or horse and cart) years.
Try not to meet anybody coming out
