Tippers

Just a quick question on tippers.

After driving small tippers (4 tonners) I’ve been driving a 5 year old MAN 5 wheel tipper for an agency.
This vehicle had no easy sheet and the tailgate was manually operated i.e getting out and taking pins out the tailgate, and putting back after lowering the bed.

The agency now asked me to drive a 6 wheeler but I turned the job down due not been sure about the following:

Tailgate - I am told that some vehicles have a lever that releases the tailgate but havent been shown how to operate one.
easysheet - not been shown that either… not sure if it’s incorporated into the PTO?

would it be easy for me to work it out myself, OR am i right in turning the job down on that basis. not sure if
I would have been shown what do or just thrown off the job.

Personally I’d have taken the job but told them I’ll need showing how the tailgate and easisheet work…
Or ask when you turn up for your first shift…

That’s the joy of agency, when you turn up just say you haven’t used this system before, I’m sure it will take 5 mins to show you. Better you ask if your not sure than get to the tip and not know what to do.

defo should have taken it and asked as said. the easysheet is on its own rocker switch which you have to hold to get it go backwards/forwards. normally auto tailgate is normally on a switch next to the pto
