Tippers

is this the same thing as the h&s passport?
The one job i nearly went for was going to send me on a 2 day course (locally) as it was Corus policy to have one to work on their sites. I didnt do the course btw as i didnt accept the job in the end

is this the same thing

Dunno.

I’ve never actually got around to getting one. Last year the company I was working for were supposed to be arranging it but never did.

But then again the HIAB course that should have happened went from being a certificated course at an external organisation to a session with the in house training man. The test was a farce, using the companies other vehicle with a rear mounted remote crane, the other driver was told to get all the legs out and touch the hook on the headboard. Once he’d done that he was told to give me the remote and I had to put it away. End of official training.

I’d had training from another driver previously and was a competent operator but they were panicking as there was a site coming up where we were likely to get asked for certificates.

By the end of my time there I was hoping that I’d get kicked off a site in Bradford or Manchester because I didn’t have the card. Unfortunately it never happened and they are still probably dodging it today.

there are clearly some strong opinions on this matter and i can say from experiance that tippers arnt much cop and that site driving can be an absolute.
I drove for hargreaves in the north east for nearly a year in and out of building sites, landfills and coal pits not pretty, not clean and not fun, just my opinion.
I now do general haulage and to be honest its an absolute doddle compared.
Your choice tho pick wisley there are always driving jobs going just phone every company in the yellow pages.
