I am trying to get into tipper driving… will the MPQC qualification be a requirement before driving tippers or should I be able to get work easy enough without the MPQC?
I’m in the Durham/Sunderland area if that helps
Perhaps I should know but actually don’t. What is an MPQC
The big companies such as lafarge, Hansons etc do require it yes.
Not sure about smaller companies such as muck shifters etc.
Heard a story only the other day where a driver turned up on site with 20 ton of tarmac on and was asked for his card. When he couldn’t provide it he was sent away and told not to come back! Along with his 20 ton of tarmac valuing about 2 grand - ouch
