What happened to John Dee,did he go bust or was he taken over? I’ve lost touch with a lot of the transport happenings. He certainly had a lot of tackle in the 70s and 80s.

Went bust in a big way I fear. They went on a massive spending spree, lost money all over the place but kept on spending. Like all good Truck Magazine features they went down soon after achieving fame & fortune.

Thanks for that Mackem.Dixons of Derby I remember well and I used to get them mixed up with a firm from Little Eaton( I think) called Rollon Transport who were also in blue livery.
