Are there HGV timed restrictions in place on the A1055!? I am tipping at Lidl, Sunday morning and hoping to get there early! (5am). Was looking at coming off M25 J25 and drop straight onto A1055 and follow that down to Lidl Ardra road. But not sure if this has timed restriction as part of Lorry control scheme. Does anybody happen to know!?
This is one of those weird ones that nobody seems to know. We have to go to Coca Cola Edmonton, and it appears there’s no legal way in at night, as there are restriction signs at both ends (Hertford Rd, Wlatham Cross end, and North Circular end). Don’t they ban lorries all day Sunday? If so, the signs say “except permit holders”, so ask yourself, is your company a permit holder? If lorries are allowed in Sunday, just check the times… although 5am would be in the ban times on any day I think. On the London lorry ban map the A1055 appears in bold colour, which suggests it’s ok for use. As I said, nobody seems to know for sure, and all the drivers at our depot are scratching our heads. Ruffle a few feathers and ask your company to see their permit.
EDIT: I’ve just checked Ardra road on the map. If I were in your shoes, I’d come off M25 at J25, head down the A10 to the North Circular, and pick the A1055 up from there, as it’s only 1/4 mile from the North Circular. That’s how I get to Coke, just to be on the safer side.
Even as early (or late) as 6am, after you’ve turned off the A10 at the first lights below the M25, you drive about a mile then cross the Cheshunt/Hertford road traffic lights, filling station on the left at the lights, you’ll find the 7.5 ton weight limit illuminated at that point and i’m not sure how far the limit extends, as said it’s an odd one.
Nope, buggered if i know either, you’ve passed all the houses at that point and are entering industrial zone so why the weight limit there of all places

This! If there’s any uncertainty over this in future I’d insist on the company issuing written instructions to me then if it does become an issue you can bat it back to them.
There are no restrictions going to Lidl from the A10 and the A1055 off the M25, although a lorry ban sign is still there at the junction with the A1010, it was actually lifted a few years ago.
We use that road every morning before 7am to get to iceland enfieild and lidl, dark green on the control map = no restrictions.
We go into Biffa Ardra road early doors and never had problems!
Thanks for the responses gents!! I just went for it on the basis of Iceland always seem to be open (24hours!■■?)and the fact that Lidl were open at 0500 would suggest that it is fine!! I am sure the chimps in our office will let me know if there is any fall out from it!! I came off the M25 at J25, onto A1055 and then left at the lights towards Iceland and just followed the A1055, there were plenty of other trucks coming the other way so thought Sod it, clearly no real issue!!
Can anyone tell me is the a10 leaving a406 north circular travelling up the a10 to m25 junction 25 roundabout in the London night time lorry bound zone or is that road unrestricted ok to use

A10 is fine bud
We go down there regular, down past Iceland, the signs are all wrong, Iceland trucks go up and down there 24/7.
