Time to out rude miserable transport office staff

I find it somewhat amusing that Vitriol Turton reports people for their attitude, agression, ignorance and abuse… :smiling_imp:

When you see the state of a lot of drivers that walk through the RDC booking-in office door and then pick up the stench of them if you’re downwind, it’s hardly surprising that we get treated like we do. Not only that but a good amount of drivers start off on the wrong foot with f-ing and blinding and then making demands about needing to be out of the place in x time because of y. Now put yourself in the shoes of the bloke sat behind the desk. It’s still no excuse, but dealing with that every day for 8,10,12 hours I can see how quickly it would start to grate…

3663 Banbury some years ago. a warehouse supervisor started [zb] and blinding at me because there was something wrong with the load. Got out the cab, walked into the goods in and asked to make an official coomplaint about the agressive behavior and foul language directed towards me with no provocation. i recieved a personal appology from the supervisor, and from the general manager.
If people have cause to complain about something, complain to the person responsible, not to the only poor sod available, i can take grumpy, and ignorant, but foul and abusive language when all I’m trying to do is my job, no way!

I had the total opposite to an[zb] the other day,i had never been to M&S at Thornbury before,a very helpful security guy, very polite, even though it was a self tip the old boys on the LLOPS were cheerful and quick and the young lady in the goods in office was very very nice, all in all a pleasant expirence, makes a change to say that, pity Barnsley ain’t the same. !!!

So not just any tip, this was an M&S tip. :stuck_out_tongue:

When I was on nights for P&O Roadways used to load out of Allied Colloids at Bradford (or whatever they’re called these days) and there was a black guy on the gatehouse there that should’ve been on stage. He had me creased up in stitches every time I went there on a night. Makes a refreshing change from all the other jobsworths you encounter.

I have been doing a run from palletways lichfield to p.w Nijmegen holland and i must admit the dutch are very polite. It make a change from doing the likes of bestways cash and carry who i thing are the worst people i have come a cross :unamused:

You have not been to ambient goods in at Morrisons Wakefield then! :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

Me and my Dad were on the agency at B&Q Preston Brook years ago, big bloke in the office started mouthing at my old fella which resulted in the brown envelope the delivery notes were in being set alight and launched back through the window, funny as …

I once dragged a chopsy 18 year old traffic clerk through the hatch, funniest thing ever, me on one side dragging him by his collar, and three inside dragging him back by his boots  Never did go back there…

That reminds me. Did any Viamaster drivers ever drag Mark through the office window? When I was working there I reckon every Viamaster driver I spoke to said they’d done it at some point but it was strange how there were never any witnesses to said events… :unamused:

Not me Rob, this was years ago in Sheddicks transport hovel

I’ve been beaten to it - but I would also like to add the opposite view to give a bit of balance to the thread. The nigh security staff in the gatehouse at Palletline Solihull are always polite and helpful ( and a laugh when you get to know them!). Don’t know the day staff, so no comment

Maybe it’s a bit different because we have many of the same drivers in every night but I’ve seen them be the same with new visitors.

They still hold the record, in my book, as the most ignorant people I have had the misfortune to meet. I normally have no problems at RDC’s. I am polite and civil to their staff and I have always been treated in a similar manner.

greggy:
.

oh and do not drag the iq’s of chimps, they are a lot more inteligent than people at the gatehouse.lol

We used to call the gatehouse at our RDC the guardshack but someone did’nt like it so we were politely told to call it the gatehouse :unamused:
The place has a wire fence around it and we are checked in and out by security guards, so it’s an ■■■■■■ GUARDSHACK :imp:

What about the miserable cow at Aldi Swindon in the chilled side, anybody who has been there will know her, she hates drivers and makes no secret of it , trouble is you have to wait for her to check your load off before she gives you back your paperwork so you got to bite your tongue otherwise she makes you wait and its cold in that chilled warehouse. :imp: :imp:

my answer to these pillocks is simple.
“having a bad day are we?”
“no drive”
“oh trust me pal, you are having a bad day, and you can have a better day, or a much much worse one.”

they start to think (sometimes it takes a while).

then they reply with somehing highly intelligent like “ya wot?”

At this point i decide how much worse his day is going to be.

i have spent so much time being arrested, it has become a part of me.
just like the rest of you, i have a breaking point. some days someone could throw so much at me, it has no effect whatsoever, (sometimes this is worse for them). other days, it’s a case of, they should have stayed in bed.

my mum said i wasn’t right in the head from the day i was born.
and you know what?
she was dead right.
