From the front of the Duomo, facing McD’s, turn to your left. Walk down the road going past the Tourist Info office till you come to a piazza with a sculpture of dolphins in it. Go round the piazza to your left and there you’ll find the Rob Roy bar. It used to be a great place, dunno what its like now though.
Another good one, for good cheap food was the Bar Magenta, on Via Magenta, which I think is a part of Via Dante. I was always rather the worse for drink by the time I left there
Magenta’s was always a good laugh as well as well as pogues irish bar!!!
When in Milan I used to frquent the Raccanna Bar, Via Sannio, in the South East corner of the City. part owned by an English lady called Ruth, and visited by the english /Irish / scottish nurses, au pairs, nannies etc!!!
Oh the fun we had!!!
Stupidly I found a great Irish bar in Milan and didn’t note where it was, I used to get an all day travel pass and just get off at random stops, all I needed to know was the station nearest to my truck.
The Irish bar I found was open on the Sunday lunch time with a full selection of roast dinner across the bar, and as long as you were drinking, it was free… The place was full to the rafters and after all the food was gone, (it was on the bar being replenished for a good 3 hours) their was a band came and played for a couple of hours. great weekend
