Just remember you’ll be on a trial period ,it doesn’t cost them anything too terminate your employment ,wheras it does me ,and as proved with the recent shenanigans with redundancy ,they don’t want too pay redundancy .
If you keep hitting parked vans and turning up 2hrs late it will cost them ■■■■ all to finish you. Sacking does not include redundancy.

I noticed on my way too work the other day that the road I use is closed this saturday,so I thought I’d do the decent think and warn the boss I would most likely be late ( assuming road is closed) ,after doing the decent thing of warning him in advance I would of thought I would of got a THANKYOU,but no I got a GETTING YOUR EXCUSES IN EARLY ,makes you wonder why we bother
Why preempt being late? Just because a road is closed, which you know in advance, what’s wrong with planning an alternative to get you there at correct time ?
What do you do if you come across a road you use on a delivery that’s closed, sit there and ponder or just go another route?

Start time Saturday 11 a.m ,arrived 12.54 p.m( apx 2 hrs late ) ,planner was fine about it ,just said he’d just kept rolling jobs until I arrived
So what the latest you’ve been for work ,that’s my record
Don’t sweat it. You gave them 1 hour 54 mins of extra damage free time. You probably got the planner excited thinking you were taking the day off. When you finally did turn up, did you notice odd clues like TM moving his fancy car back behind a barrier, the office girls locking away the crockery and breakables, moving pot plants off shelves and putting them in the cupboard?
Glad you added the (2 hours late) in brackets. The maths was killing me. Keep on soldiering!

No he won’t sack me ,he’s just going too apparently deduct any late attendance from my wages ,message doesn’t seem too have got through too pay roll though

If you knew about a possible delay or detour in advance why did you not get up earlier to allow for the delay or detour.
Letting the Boss know about such things is OK if it is unexpected, but to make it an excuse for being late when you knew in advance does not warrant your expected thank you.

Don’t ever quit your job, you’ll never find an employer this understanding again!
Unless you come and work at my depot…as long as you’re in before the load is ready and before you get a phone call informing you of such, nobody gives a monkeys.

I arrived at 12.40 p.m ( should of been there at 11 a.m ) ,planner gave me a 2 dropper ,1 St drop 6 p.m ,2 nd drop 8 .30 p.m ,I was tipped and on my way home at 6.pm ,that was after having too go back to drop 1 as found a pallet at 2 nd drop that had 1 St drops label on ( ist drop had signed p.o.d first time there and still insisted after seeing pallet and label that they’d had all there’s .
As you say I could of got there at 4 pm and still got too 1 St drop on time ,planner was fine ,even told me too shoot off ,have early finish as last shift and he’d cover 2 nd run ,but I’m sure boss will still threaten wage deductions when he looks at time sheet
