Great pictures showing timber haulage in England. Very different from Sweden as not use semi trailers.

Any remember a firm from newark called island international?.

I used to meet the owner who was a guy called Mike Burgess taking logs down to spain/portugal in a tilt then reloading onions back for the uk in the late 90’s.

At the time he had two 143s I think but in later years I have seen some later scania marked up island with timber bolster trailers on.

Mike was a joy to meet up/run with and I believe he formerly ran a company called highland haulage.

I would love to know if he’s still around.
