dozy:
So we start off with a question about the meaning of some of tim foxes sayings,by the end it’s a character assassination of the bloke
,why am I not surprised,I’ve only spoke to him once when him and I were dieselingup on ourpumps,he spoke first and came over to me as Areally nice bloke, very friendly,I’d be interested to hear what he’s actually done to be called a ■■■■ or words to that effect,
Matt, seen him in our office but never spoke to him or had anything to do with him,but a lot of our lads had him for CPCsaid and said he was a really nice lad( and boy would they assassinate him if he was anything other than that),from what they say he’s also quite happy to listen to you, check the facts out and if hes wrong hold his hands up,more than a lot will do.
Other two I can’t comment on as I’ve never met them, seen them etc etc, which might be the best policy for folks on here, meet someone and then make your decision on them, not listen to hearsay

I have met a couple off the TV programme - and been drinking with one of them, I also know a few other Stobart drivers - some of who have a lot more experience than the guys slagging them off.
The way the |TV programme is edited I agree doesn’t do the lads any favours, but they film 24-48 hours and condense that down to a 5 minute snippet of the bits that will make an impact.
The TV programme has made some of them “personalities” to the general public, and what the knockers don’t see is how they use that, I have witnessed one of the most abused members of the programme spend time and effort to put a smile on a terminally ill child who loves the programme, I know of one of the “Ego’s” who for no pay spent hours meeting people and having his photo taken, and make them folks day,
a bloke walked up to me at Truckfest and told me " that blokes an ■■■■■■■■" pointing at the Stobart driver from the programme, he said that with a can in his hand- when I asked what he had done to put a smile the face of the disabled kid that the Stobart driver was talking to and spending time with he didn’t have an answer and walked off a bit sheepish.
Another Stobart programme regular appeared on the stand and was at Truckfest just to enjoy himself , when we got a request from the parents of a little girl who suffers from a blistering condition that means she cant be out in the sun for more than a few minutes made sure he was in our trailer to meet her and make her day.
Now they may have only got their recognition from a badly edited TV programme , but as yet every one of those appearing in it I have met has been a genuine bloke and tried to use their “fame” put a smile on someones face., We have organised a few events where they have appeared at and not one has asked to be paid… what did you do to put a smile on someones face ?
Not defending the programme, but the lads I have met are spot on
