Tilt Cab AEC (Ergo)

To my mind, the development of the AEC Mk 3 through the Mk 5 and then the tilt cab was the most progressive move made by British lorry manufacturers . I lived and worked in all of them. Rose tinted specs - or what? Within 7 years? the motors were driver’s dream wagons.
My favourite has to be the Ergo Mammoth Major. Smooth, fast, and comfortable. Neat, tidy, and lock to lock power steering in 1966, pulling a draw-bar was so easy going backwards, even up link-spans. You guys with your memories will remember it all, including the exploding fly-wheels and early cooling problems. But I just loved the motor, and only the Scania LB 76 tugs the same strings. I bet this is covered before, but worth reviving. Jim
