Where is the tightest place you have had to load at. Superglass at Stirling for me. Small yard with too many trialers and no formal bays. Only about 1 foot either side when empty maximum and then they load with insulation causing the sides to expand. I am normally in and out checking half a dozen timesused to go in there quite a bit when pulling for curries and it was a pain in the ā ā ā ā . i used to dump em round the back and [zb] off before they caught meā¦
i used to dump them anywhere as well ā¦lol⦠was a pain in the ā ā ā ā trying to find yer trailer you where picking up cause they where all over the bloody place ⦠shunters would just dump a full trailer anywhere there was enough space so sometimes u could be 20 mins before u find the bloody thing ā¦lolā¦
one of the tighest places for me was a cardboard place in stoke on trent⦠thonk it was Merlinā¦ā ā ?
this was a real stinkerā¦
first of all you had to go down this very tight laneā¦
then you came to the hard bit⦠look at the roof of the building its had more hits than the Beatlesā¦and the small wall opposite ā¦
getting out you had to lift the trailer suspension to clear the wall on the near side before u could get outā¦
Woolworthās at rochdale sainsburys at hackbridge (what a dump that was) also did a drop in hull it was down a side street nexts to the courts it is a one way street .I blocked the street every time i went down it ha ha
man-tga,
Jeez, that looks like a real pain, not much fun at night or in the rain I can imagine.
All the ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ive blocked out of my memory are being named on hereā¦sainsburys hackbridge, woolworths swindon, sainsburys charlton (up the ramp ) but i think my all time worst was sainsburys basingstoke on the bread bays at the end,you had to back up the ramp and around the wagon on the first bay without hitting the wall, lost a few n/s lower headboard markers on that one, infact it was such a favorite trick of mine the workshop gave me spare blubs and lenses
3663 at Edenbridge on the amibent was always good for a giggle
British Bakels at Bicester had 3 bays you had to get half the trailer in before getting straight good if your the only lorry in but crap otherwise many a bumper lost on there massive kerbs
Beldray in Bilston, now closed. Name was an anagram of āBradleyā. Trailers fitted where they touched, and you shunted on them by bumping stuff out the way !!!

That wouldānt be that ā ā ā hole I went into at about 22:30 last night on Berry hill ind est would it by chance
I forwarded in was told to put trailer into A10 had to reverse out then spin it into spot VERY TIGHT
later at 0130 when my return trailer was ready I had to escape
however it is very tight and then as you turn right out of the gate some nedwin had parked their Frontera 4x4 right in the area I needed to be to make the turn but luckily I saw this and took 2 YES 2 attempts to get out of the gate without shortening this persons vehicle
What sort of pillock parks where a heavy needs to run itās rear wheels to turn out of a gateway
Met a great Rasta from St Lucia there, peace out to him and One Love
Even tighter is Kelloggs at Trafford Park (the factory not warehouse) about 2-3 inches either side of trailer and the sun is inn your eyes whilst you reverse inn noone helps you and you reverse into a black hole, moral sun and black holes Donāt mix
Gazzareth:
Tightest yard I have ever had to put a trailer on the ābayā is TNT Luton - the only place I have ever known where it is common practice to use one trailer to move another out the way - or just push one along the side of another to get it in. Not so bad when you have one of the really old ones, but not so good when you have a brand new shiny one !!!G
Yeah we used to go there all the time really tight especially in a Lefthooker !!
castle way , southampton , mack markets used to have a warehouse in behind the snooker club , what fun in an artic ! .(will switch to street view) .

Cliff Wood / Hull Lighting? or Johnston and Jeff
I remember Argos when it was Presto
used it before i know but one call we used to to do, come the left and turn right up this hill, bloody tight in an rigid
.
but you artic lads could prob do this blindfolded without a flinch
had to watch your p/s bumper on this brick wall while making sure the rear didnt take out the other wall
Iām somehow sat on the bay at harper collins in bishopbriggs. Because of the one way system everything is wrong. you canāt reverse on your good side without off roading. It can be done blindside but the margin for error is 6 inch on your right and if another motor is on the bay 18 inch on the left. I did it in 3 minor shunts to get it perfect.
Photo evidence to follow.

a 180 degree blind side reverse around the building with the wood in. The amount of times iāve nearly taken either the building or the wall opposite out is unreal
You wanna see some of the locals we deliver to with a 45ā trailerā¦!
Anyone been to Makro Norwich? Love the brilliant design for trucks to get through to the loading area, and what amazes me the most is that it was BUILT that way, when they could have quite easily made it straight.

Rikki-UK:
I have posted this before, but a quick recap,
We had a job to move some wide sections of ventilation trunking from Cramlington to Sheppy were they were getting shipped to Mexico. The factory these were built in had 5 metre wide doors, these sections were a gnats whisker under 5 metre- or would have been if they didnt have a flange on them where they bolted to the section underneath that added about another 2 inches to the width, with the runners for the roller shutter doors removed a groove was cut into the brickwork each side of the door at the right height . just enough to get the sticky out bit through
before loading you had to get the unit and trailer inch perfect and totally straight inside the bay, and then when loading get the load perfectly centred on the trailer before inching out, it was that tight you couldnt sheet or secure it inside as it wouldnt have fitted through.
You want tight ? 5.01 meters through a genuine 5 metre doorway

sounds like a very badly planned job - mustāve been for some right moron? iāve had several jobs over the years where a piece has been built simply too tall or wide to exit the building where it was built, most iāve managed to suss before it came to moving, a few were lovely little āon the day discoveriesā
