Tight Drops. Credit to Driver

Out shopping in Macclesfield at the weekend and watched an Aldi driver doing a drop at their store. Saturday afternoon, car park rammed with shoppers, 90 degree blind side reverse onto a single bay, all lanes in car park single track. Poor sod. He pulled it off a treat despite all that. No one would have given recognition for gen public but I did. If that was you fella and you are reading this, I take my hat off to you. Too many clowns happy to watch a driver get stuck, film on their mobile for YouTube for people to take the pee but not help. I guess there are 10,001 other tight spots out there!

Did you go to congratulate him in person?

Do you mean this one?

Doesn’t look that horrendous, but I fear the two cars parked conveniently at the top of the loading ramp might give an indication of what he was up against. :unamused:

Iceland in Timperley is a good one. Saw one of their drivers reverse an artic (albeit a smaller trailer) down this ludicrous access road a few weeks ago (yes, the path between the two houses)…

Crumbs! I did a collection of Mushrooms from a farm out Cheshire(-ish) way ages ago for the Co-op out of Alfreton - similar to this one for access - ring any bells with anyone?

Loads of room… You want to try some of the building sites we go to…

Unfortunately couldn’t cross over for the rush of drivers that had had to wait for him that came flying in .

Yeh, it looks ok from the traffic levels when google took that picture but at the time…

I’ve done a few building sites when I drove rigids for SIG so I know what they can be like!

there is a guy, i think he is an Irish guy, drives a Renault Premium that has a 3am drop at Lidls in Dundee, which is situated across from the local night clubs, every Saturday he has to do a 100foot reverse, off the road into the car park, although its not tight he is up against it with taxis trying to beat him into car park, 3 nightclub coaches, 100s of revellers and a dozen neds in souped up cars racing around… then there is the police who stand and watch and do nothing.

i watched him do it once but he was in the back of the motor with a pallet truck unloading before i got to say well done.

And I thought Chippenham Iceland was a bad un.

Two cars at the top of the ramp must be lined up for the next scratch and dent sale.

Argos - Weston-Super-Mare - Where the Merc estate is parked (which you’d need to get moved) and the hefty RSJ construction to stop you destroying the building which wasn’t there when I went years ago. All the streets to get there as well are a nightmare with parked cars. Used to be loads of Somerfield stores in a similar vein to ones on this thread.

They could have been staff cars placed there so that they could be moved to give the deliveries some guaranteed room. We have a couple of store that will do this, though it has been known to start others into thinking that anywhere will do.

It’s interesting and you can’t use the space opposite the turning as it has a 5/7.5 tonne weight limit on with a camera to monitor. There is some space past the white building (pass with it on your near side) that can be used early morning but mid afternoon -forget it. God bless rear windows :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :sunglasses:

The 2 toilet cubicles at our yard…bloody small…always a tight drop in there!

I always find when I’m having a good clear out I’m always given plenty of room!

The car park might be smaller than it looks, but surely the sensible thing to do there would be to have their delivery at the crack of dawn when its empty, driver can then just drive in and screw it round.

Google Maps

theres a quite a lot of co op shops like this.

Great for gaining exp and a good feeling when you get it in without hitting anything.

Wasn’t tight in relation to space, but Dunelm’s Old Gloucester store was a pain in the arse, as you had a blind side reverse into the carpark from a dual carriageway.
It was tight in that you had to time in just right with the lights, and hope no one was leaving the carpark.
