Any one ever/presently work for them. Wondered what they do mostly. Was told they are the next biggest logistics company in GB next to excel?
They used to be one of the biggest a few years ago until they sold a lot of the haulage side off i thought.
Tibbett and Britten was taken over by Exel approx 2003. Exel is now part of the DHLExel ammalgamation of approx 2006.
So are they still at the glass? I used to pick trailers for them when there own drivers would’nt travel to Ireland. Never heard anything good about them, apart from being renamed"

Not sure what you mean by “Still at the glass”. In my limited experience they seem to be mostly managing logistics for 3rd party clients and seem to have very wide differences of style depending on the client/local management. You can hear good and bad, mostly bad, about the effectiveness (preventative maintenance being one, planning of routes that defies logic and lip service to procedures when it suits) but while I have some grumbles on balance there are worse companies to work for. For example I was well looked after when returning to work after nearly 2 years sick.
Done quite a bit of work for them in the past and never had any problems. If I’m honest I quite enjoyed the work, but I’m going back a fair while now because it was when I was driving class 2.
It was when Fashion Logistics used to be in Morley where George Walker’s is now. I used to either get either the Mansfield, Chesterfield and Newark run which would be Mothercare’s and Etam’s mainly, or the North Wales run for doing Woolworth’s shop deliveries, starting in Prestatyn, then Rhyl, Colwyn Bay, Conwy, Llandudno, Bangor, Caernarfon, Pwllheli, Portmadog and Barmouth. A hell of a run in one day but it was usually only half a dozen boxes and a couple of handfuls of hanging at each one so you were in and out in 15 mins. The best part was coming back home - straight back up to Portmadog and then up through Snowdonia via Blaenau Ffestiniog and Betws-y-Coed
.
Sorry ellies dad, I realise that will be of absolutely no use nor help to you whatsoever though
. Bottom line is that they do clothes mainly.
As far as i know the name of the glass was “solaglass” from stittingbourne. They got bought out then and the work stopped.
