Takes one fanny to ■■■■ it up and stop his wheels then you’re stuffed!!

Looking busy up there :astonished:

Doesn’t help when you’ve got one of the new trucks which don’t have diff locks and rely on traction control to do that job instead. Also these new “low rolling resistance eco-tyres” are crap on snow as well. You’d be fined if you had those on in Germany at this time of year.

It might be busy but i cant see much in the way of snow

i was told its best to turn traction control in snow and ice what’s your thoughts ?

Which way were you told - off or on ■■?

Definitely off though if you need to get some bite.

was told turn it off in ice and snow same as a car

Don’t think it needs to be off when ya moving, and I don’t think you can compare a car with a truck either!

I was westbound on the M62 this morning the weather wasn’t the problem just three lanes of slow moving traffic. The weather was worse on the M1 around Sheffield and Barnsley. If it hadn’t been for the diff lock I wouldn’t have got past Woolley Edge services. Let’s face it, if your stuck you try anything to get going again, this time the diff lock worked. It took me four hours five minutes to get from Sheffield to Chorley, normally it would take less than two hours.
I’ve got a 14 plate DAF which is useless in snow the 11 plate MAN I had before was a lot better.

Yaaaah took me 3 hrs to do a 10 min trip in the car :open_mouth:

Reason 4 trucks stuck on a slight slope by a set of traffic lights on the A523 :open_mouth:

Oh well :grimacing:

Speedyguy

I was stuck in it too(P&H class2). Eventually had to turn left under the railway bridge towards Wilmslow. Problem was a skip guy was stopped under the bridge whilst he decided to be a hero and help the car driving idiots come out at the lights.(All wheel spinning and polishing the incline). This meant in turn I had to help out in order to get him back in his truck so that I could go under the bridge centrally cos I was close with height(13’ 0")

Grrrr.

Speedyguy, Problem was a skip guy

Always a Skippy eh if they’re not dropping flags off the side or paper blowing off the back :imp:

Interesting day anyway,

Big hold up seemed to be the car transporter by the cattle crossing, smashed up planks of wood in the road and all sorts of crap where the attempts to get a grip happened i passed whilst a couple of coppers and possibly farmers were trying to get him some traction, all for 1/4 " of ice :open_mouth:

Then 3 bogged behind him, also a semi jacknife on the bypass between McDonald’s and Tesco,

Deep joy in Cheshire today eh :grimacing:
