Throttle problem

Hi,
We have a problem with our Atego 815 2000 reg. The throttle appears to have a mind of its own. I have replaced the accelerator and this has not fixed it. The fault codes are FR17070 and NR10162. But I am now stumped as to what to do next.

Could be something to do with the injector pump. Or the throttle may need re-programmed. Not 100% on that but you could look into it.

Look here man, face facts you should have never bought a Merc there an absolute disgrace, trade it in now for anything else

i’ve got a throttle problem too , when the wife starts moaning i want to throttle her

NR codes are chassis/suspension fault codes and FR codes are fault codes that are items that are directly controled by the driver eg clutch, throttle etc.

Whats the throttle doing?

from memory of being an ex MB technician, when you fit a new throttle pedal you do have to program it in. As in to tell it where the idle position and full throttle position are. You can do it without star diagnosis, its in the dash under FR LEARN. I honestly cant remember exactly what you do, but I’m sure there will be some info out there on the internet.

OK so problem seemed to be the FMR control unit and had it replaced at Mercedes (ouch). It has now developed more fault codes after being clear for only about a week.
Where can I find a list of codes for this on the net? We have FR4440 and FR4614 up if anyone can help with what these mean.

Trading in the vehicle is not an option unfortunately, just cant afford to keep putting it in with mercedes

Thanks

I think I would be looking at the relevant wiring harnesses for rub through or evidence of water getting in somewhere.

I know it might not help but I did see a program on Wheeler Dealers where they did up a Aston Martin, that had a similar fault, they had to replace the same part as you and then re programme the car to know where the idle position is etc.

Apparently it’s not that easy to do, unless you have a bit about you on the mechanical side of things, unlike me, who can just about do a tyre and a bulb.
