Do keep up GasGas! Those lorries arrived/went on the road October/November last year…
The MAN artic pulls a Wilcox aggregate trailer and carries 29100kg.
The 8x4 must be running 400kg over its’ mgw if it carries “an excellent 19400.”
The 6x4 carries an embarassing 14700, compared to 15700 of the Foden Alphas.
I used to drive for them so I should know, and I’ve loaded all three of the above so I know their payloads.
I also know they don’t like having links to them posted on here, even if they’ve been interviewed.
It was all on an MAN press release, which came out today (they usually wait for a while before doing this so they can be sure the customer is happy with the trucks.
I recall an amusing incident with another manufacturer and a different operator when a journalist called up to get some details about the truck that weren’t in the press release and the reply he got was
“Oh that thing. We had to send it back. It’s blown up after less than a week and we’ve said we don’t want to see it again!”
Why you buy an 8x4 man tipper there to heavy and the ground clearance is pants !
