Three mobile network

I am thinking of going for a PAYG account with Three mobile , mainly due to cost , how have others found the network or is there something better out there , many thanks in advance for your help guys .

Never used Three Network, however use GiffGaff (part of the 02 network) and pay currently £20 a month. However I did have to buy my own phone. I am out all week in the lorry so use my phone as a hotspot and connect my laptop to it. It works alright, but when no internet is really available, I just watch pre-downloaded… movies :sunglasses:

I’ve been PAYG with 3 for a couple of years now…

Before I was on Vodafone with a shiny new, latest gadgets phone and an 18 month contract. I didn’t like signing up for 18 months so, I left Vodafone, got the phone unlocked and went to 3.

Coverage is as good (or bad) as the other networks. There are the usual dead zones but on the whole I can yak away for as long as I want to, whilst trundling along at motorway speeds. I spend £20 per month, that buys me an ‘All in One 20’. For that I get, 3000 texts, 300 minutes to moan about the job to my friends as well as 12 gb of data. I’ve found I’ve had no problems with the data allowance but, I don’t spend all day downloading films, music or any other data munching habits. I can use the phone as a wireless hotspot for my tablet too. If you want unlimited data, it’s £25 a month.

Topping up via the website is a doddle.

There are probably deals out there that give you more, but I don’t bother looking I’m happy where I am.

Just watch out while on 3 that you aren’t automatically charged for subscription services you did not sign up for jamster etc who are based in Germany that charge £5 for nothing
I’m on contract £30 a month and all the ■■■■ you can watch

Left 3 network about a month ago now.

Was getting sick of losing signal, and not getting IMO, my data and calls worth out of the contract for what I was paying.

Found a friend that works for EE, and so has got me a new phone on a cheaper contract with 5gb of data, unlimited calls and texts for less than what I was paying with 3.

I"ve got a SIM only package with Three. Unlimited texts, 200 mins (enough for me) & unlimited data for £17pm. Not had many issues with signal.

However that same package is now £23 I believe.

Been with 3 for about 5 years now. Never had any more issues with 3 than any other network. 600 mins unlimited data on phone, 9GB tethering data and unlimited texts. I used to be Vodafone previously and had works phones on most major providers.
Have considered different providers and stuff but stuck with 3 as I’m happy enough.

No issues with signals out on the road but can be a bit crap indoors. Data speeds are fine and they’re one of the cheapest providers for data. If you go abroad you have 42 countries you can use your allowance in the same as if you were in the UK.

Been with 3 for nearly three years now.Never had any problems with their customer service side of things but it has been known for me to lose signal for upto half an hour in some of the more rural parts of North Yorkshire.

As said above coverage no different to anyone else except for o2 which was diabolical, rather than PAYG go in and tell them what you want and you might get a better deal on contract. I don’t use the phone for the internet but make a lot of calls told the boy in the shop what I wanted and came away paying £21 a month for unlimited calls to any UK number mobile or landline. Making and receiving calls from several European countries is also included in the package at no extra cost

Giffgaff is OK you get unlimited everything for 20 a month data is capped at 6gb but mines carrys on after iv used that… I use a lot of data and hate not having signal so I invested in one of them mobile WiFi devices from ee and I must say it’s brilliant for connecting your laptop etc

Been with 3 for 3 years. Briefly went to Virgin who piggyback off of EE network and signal was shocking.
Got a £9 month contract - unlimited calls, unlimited texts and 4gb of data per month. Also has the ability to cap your account so the kids cannot go over or sign up to any services that charge. If they do and moneys taken 3 refund you.

I’ve just applied for a sim from these…

No idea what they’re like, new kids on the block apparently, but the introductory offers are tempting.
I’ll give them a whirl anyway, nothing ventured etc;

Unlimited calls data and text plus 32 gb hotspot 33 quid a month

Think I must have used them all now and convinced it’s just varying degrees of crap. Found 3, to be good at data cover - poor at phone cover.
Not a lot between em.
